SPM English Becomes Compulsory-to-Pass Soonest in SPM 2018

The Star Online:
It will take at least five years to train some 60,000 teachers to prepare for making English a compulsory pass subject in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination.

"Currently, 5,000 teachers have already been trained and the Government will be recruiting 9,000 more English teachers," Deputy Education Minister Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong told reporters after launching the Star-NiE and Pizza Hut's Tale Spin 2013 contest here Tuesday.
SPM English will be made a compulsory-to-pass SPM subject soonest five years from now. And this probably will never happen if Pakatan Rakyat takes over the government this coming election.
