A staff at the Kedah government-owned Kolej Universiti Insaniah (Kuin) has asked the Higher Education Ministry to intervene and investigate allegations of irregularities in the top management of the institution.Wow, corrupted and corruption at education institution! Is this one of the many that will be uncovered soon if there is a change in government at the upcoming 13th Malaysia general election?
Kuin senior assistant registrar, Muhammad Azki Hafizi Ibrahim also suggested that the ministry formed a special committee to investigate Kuin Rector professor Datuk Dr Jamil Osman, beleived to be a primary cause in Kuin facing serious financial problems.
"They have an agenda when creating the Kuin subsidiaries, rather than for business or to bring profits to Kuin.
"With the establishment of this subsidiary, Kuin actually was facing worse financial problems since its inception in 1995," he claimed at a press conference, here Tuesday.
He said investigation should also be made on the Kedah Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Azizan Abdul Razak as the Chairman of the Kuin Board of Directors, to find out whether he had any interest in the establishment of the subsidiaries concerned.
Muhammad Azki Hafizi said they also had evidence that the financial manager of a Kuin subsidiary, Insaniah Holdings, allegedly had a criminal record and had allegedly been sentenced for cheating (involving finance).
Meanwhile, Kuliah Muamalat Lecturer Sajiah Yakob alleged that the Kuin management was often hasty in making decisions to the extent of causing difficulty to the staff and students.
"Previously, it directed us to move hastily to Stargate (Alor Setar), now it hastily asked us to move to the Kuala Ketil campus, whereas the campus there (Kuala Ketil) was not properly completed.
"Now, they extended our leave until March 17 when students should have started their class on March 3, the reason was that the Kuala Ketil campus has no hostel and the temporary hostel building is also not ready," she said.
