Man Lured Teen Boys with Expensive Gifts of Cash and Electronic Gadgets and Sodomised Them

The Star Online: UALA LUMPUR: For months, a man has been luring four young boys over a social website, winning their trust by showering them with expensive gifts of cash and electronic gadgets before inviting them to “meetings” at budget hotels. Last Friday, the man, a manager at a government-link company, was finally nabbed by the police. He is accused of sodomising the boys multiple times over the months. The suspect is believed to have been preying on the boys, who are secondary students in the same school, since May last year. It is learnt that his activities finally came to light after one of the boys confessed to a teacher, who then informed his parents on Feb 8. City police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Mohmad Salleh said the four boys, aged between 13 and 15, knew the suspect as “Abang Civic”. School Boys Sodomised by GLC Manager

The suspect, who is a manager of a government-linked company, is believed to have preyed on underage boys, all from the same secondary school, since May last year. SPM English Becomes Compulsory-to-Pass Soonest in SPM 2018

The Star Online: It will take at least five years to train some 60,000 teachers to prepare for making English a compulsory pass subject in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination. 70 Per Cent Local Graduates Secured Jobs within Six Months Graduating

GCAP - Graduate Career Accelerated Programme Bernama: He [Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin] said over 70 per cent of local graduates secured jobs within six months of graduation whereas in some countries they remained unemployed for up to two years due to limited job opportunities. "We are not saddled with high unemployment rate like other countries where graduates remain unemployed for up to two years," he told reporters at the Graduate Career Accelerated Programme (GCAP) Convocation here today. He said the government emphasised on graduate marketability and employability by organising various programs to equip graduates with knowledge and skills to enable them to secure employment. Bernama: The government will study the possibility of making English Language a must pass subject in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination. Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin however said the proposal would only be implemented when the students and the learning system were ready.[...] Muhyiddin said the ministry would ensure that English option teachers can make children master the language like those in developed countries. Skim Prihatin Pendidikan 1Malaysia (SPP1M) 1Malaysia Education Care Scheme What is 1Malaysia Education Care Scheme (1MECS) ? Skim Prihatin Pendidikan 1Malaysia (SPP1M) was launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak in February 2013 to assist students at the tertiary level obtain additional study loans. The SPP1M loan acts as a top-up to the existing National Higher Education Corporation Fund (PTPTN) loan for students pursuing their bachelor's degree or master's in certain fields. MEXT Scholarships for Teacher Training & Japanese Studies Open for Application until March 12

Bernama: The Japanese government is offering scholarship to qualified Malaysians to undergo non-degree courses either in Japanese Studies or Teachers' Training. In a statement today, the Japan Embassy in Malaysia said applications for the scholarship would be opened until March 12. 1Dream 2U for SPM & STPM 2013 Students to Enter IPTA

Bernama: The 1Dream 2U programme targets Form Five and Upper Six Form students who will be sitting for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) examinations respectively this year. Saifuddin said the programme was implemented following the failure of many SPM and STPM leavers to continue their studies at the tertiary level because they had chosen the wrong course. "They have the qualifications required for certain courses but chose the wrong course and hence lost out in the competition for places at the university," he said after launching the 1Dream 2U programme for the Temerloh district, today.
