UKM, UTM, UPM, UniSZA & UMK to Implement 2-Year University + 2-Year Industry (2u2i) Starting September 2016

5 Public Universities To Implement 2u2i Programme In September Five public universities will implement the 'Two Universities + Two Industries' (2u2i) programme in September, says Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh.

The programme, at the bachelor's degree level, requires students to study on campus for two years and gain working experience in industries in the remaining two years. [...]

Idris said five universities, namely UniSZA, Universiti Malaysia Kelantan, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia will implement the 2u2i programme for one course at their respective universities. Which specific course at each university? Hopefully the two years of industry training is alternating with two years of university learning. In other words, first year university, second year industry, third year back to university and fourth year industry again.

HEP-IPTS Debate Tournament Culminates in a Heated Grand Finals

A total of 30 teams from Malaysian private universities took part in the tournament

Kuala Lumpur, 12 May 2016 – The HEP-IPTS Debate 2016, organised by International Medical University (IMU) in collaboration with the Majlis HEP-IPTS, came to a conclusion last weekend following an intensive three-day battle of wits between 30 debate teams from local private universities across Malaysia.

Supported by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), the tournament saw Taylor’s University and HELP University going head-to-head in a highly-charged and stimulating Grand Finals, in which the former ultimately emerged champion, supporting the motion “Communities should have Exclusive Ownership over their Own Cultures”.

UM's Associate Prof Dr Chan Yoke Fun Among Top 100 Asian Scientists

University of Malaya (UM)'s Associate Professor Dr Chan from Biomedical Sciences field received a 2015 L’OrĂ©al-UNESCO for Women in Science fellowship for developing therapeutic peptides that target enterovirus A71 in hand, foot and mouth disease.
