Bernama: The Education Ministry is transforming vocational education in the country by expanding its physical facilities to accommodate an increase of 20 per cent more students this year. Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said it was aimed at meeting the trained manpower needs in various industries which required skilled workers. He said the reception by students was overwhelming as about 126,000 students applied for places in vocational institutions last year when there were only 20,000 places available. Muhyiddin, who is also Education Minister, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak was aware of the situation and agreed that the government devoted more attention to establish more vocational facilities to meet demand from youths. Good news from the Ministry of Education Malaysia to those aiming to study at vocational institutions.
