Eligibility for MaGIC's Silicon Valley Internship Programme
- Malaysian enrolled in full-time university undergraduate programs
- Major in programs related to software engineering, computer science or multimedia design
- Must have completed 1 year of study at the point of departure and have a minimum of 1 remaining semester of study upon return to university before graduating
- Willing and able to get approval from the university to take a gap year from their undergraduate study
- Able to communicate proficiently in English (both written and oral)
- Should not be involved in any major university projects (e.g. Final Year Project) during the internship period
- Capable of working in fast-paced environment filled with uncertainty
- Independent and resourceful
- Have an interest in entrepreneurship and basic understanding of how startups work
Key Dates for MaGIC's Silicon Valley Internship Programme
- June 30, 2014: Application opens
- Aug 29, 2014: Application closes
- Sep 15 - 26, 2014: First round of interviews with MaGIC
- Sep 29 - 3 Oct, 2014: Preparation of candidates selected for second round interviews
- Oct 6 - 17, 2014: Second round of interviews with Startups
- Oct 18 - 31, 2014: Finalization of placements with Startups
- Nov - Dec, 2014: Pre-Departure: Visa Application, clearance from universities, Orientation Day
- Jan - March 2015: Departure (depends on individuals' start date agreed with their startups)
